Welcome to Doug McCallum The Mover LTD.
Doug McCallum the Mover began in the late 1940's. Business was good and in 1951, Doug acquired another local moving company, Dick Best the Mover. This was a keen business move on Doug's part, as it increased his fleet of trucks by two and more importantly, provided a license to operate outside of the City of Hamilton.
Doug's son Bill joined the operation in 1957 at the young age of sixteen. Starting first on the trucks, Bill helped to generate business by securing commercial contracts and increasing residential sales. Regrettably, Doug died before he could see his company expand even further. Under Bill's leadership since 1966, the company joined United Van Lines (Canada) Ltd.
In 2003 Campbell Group of Companies purchased Doug McCallum the Mover and has continued to exceed the expectations of the moving industry. We are a member of United Van Lines, Canada's largest van lines servicing more than 40% of Canadian moves. We are proud to be a member of United Van lines and provide top-of-the-line service.
